Record Q4 Parcel Prices, The State of TikTok Shop, The Alt-Carrier Shakeup & Amazon's $7B AI Bid: The Latest Logistics News

The Alternative Carrier Shakeup: Consolidation & Chinese Capital If you’ve been looking for alternatives to the FedEx/UPS duopoly, you need to pay attention to where the money is flowing. Behind the scenes, the alternative parcel market is seeing massive consolidation driven by Chinese capital. GOFO - whose parent company is Chinese logistics giant Zongteng (ZT) - recently closed a massive $100 million capital raise. The investors (including Hillhouse Investment and Gaorong Ventures) have deep overseas ties, with some possessing direct links to the Chinese government.

Even more interesting: rumor has it ZT is injecting funds to keep rival UniUni alive. The alleged play? UniUni will close down most of its regional hubs, keeping only major sorting facilities, and use GOFO's network for final delivery across the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, J&T Worldwide is the financial muscle behind both SpeedX and SwiftX, leading many to guess a consolidation of those two is imminent. As the challenger networks mature, the "independent" regional carrier space appears to be rapidly transforming into a consolidated, foreign-backed oligopoly. Sources: Dealroom / Yahoo Finance

Bar chart of TikTok Shop sales share by product category, led by beauty and personal care at 20.7% and apparel at 19.6%

The State of TikTok Shop in 2026. Marketplace Pulse just released a massive 2026 trend report on TikTok Shop, and the data proves it is a fundamentally different ecosystem than Amazon. The platform operates on a "manufactured demand" model driven entirely by video content. The market is incredibly top-heavy: just 748 sellers account for half of all sales, primarily in impulse-priced health, beauty, and apparel items (median price of $23). Content is the ultimate moat, with the 8% of shops that have posted over 1,000 videos commanding 60% of all sales. Crucially, success on Amazon does not translate here—only 4 of Amazon's top 100 sellers rank in TikTok's top 10,000. TikTok is where brands are made via the feed, and Amazon is where they get paid via the search box. You have to treat them as two entirely different games. FedEx & UPS Delivery Prices Set for Record-High Q4. If your shipping budget feels tighter than usual, you aren't alone. A brutal combination of elevated holiday surcharges, high fuel costs, and capacity constraints means legacy parcel delivery prices are entering uncharted territory. Source: Supply Chain Dive
